Yard Construction at the MOST
The first step in the construction was the passenger yard for the station.  There are three tracks in front of the main line for parked passenger trains.  All switches are #8 PECO Streamline code 83 turnouts.  In addition to the three platform tracks there is a small passenger car storage yard and a Railway Express Agency siding.
Next, two crossovers were spliced into the mainline track with one at each end of the yard.  These were also done with PECO #8 turnouts.  The stub ended track is the beginning of the passenger car storage tracks.  This will be a shed with two parallel tracks with storage for about four cars.
Once the passenger side was completed then it was time for the freight yard.  An arrival track was placed from one end of the yard to the other.  From here a caboose track was installed.  The ladder for all the classification tracks was also started.
From this view you can see Russ Grills laying down the escape track for the classification yard.  All the turnouts for the freight yard are PECO #6's.  The large open area to the left in the picture will be the location of the engine servicing facility.  This will consist of both steam and diesel facilities as well as an eighteen stall half roundhouse with a 14.5" turntable.
The yard is beginning to take shape.  An engine house was installed for the diesel locomotives as well as fuel racks.  The roundhouse and turntable will be to the left of the engine house in the picture.
From this view you can see the rip track that has been installed.  It has actually received some ground foam, beginning the scenery process at that end of the yard.
